Chelsea have been struggling for a year now to get rid of Carney Chukwuemeka, but it looks like they may finally have a route.

The midfielder was popular on loan at Borussia Dortmund in the second half of last year, and the German club even extended that loan to cover the Club World Cup.
Since then they’ve not been able to find an agreeable fee with Chelsea – until now, it seems.
Interestingly, what seemed to swing it was the inclusion of defender Aaron Anselmino on loan. Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea will sell Chukwuemeka for €20m with add-ons and a sell on clause included. They will also throw in Anselmino on a “dry” loan with no buy option.
The two clubs were apparently set to meet on Friday to solidify things. That was the status quo last week. It seems things have moved forward since then.
Yesterday, in the light of other updates from Sky Germany, Romano put out an update which simply said the move would be made “soon.”
This came yesterday afternoon – could we get a major update as early as today? It’s perfectly possible.
Given direct talks took place on Friday, it’s not impossible, but we suspect that the fact Dortmund played last night will have slowed things down a little.
Still, we wouldn’t expect to have to wait too long for this one now it has the Romano seal of approval. It will mean another important sale ticked off as the evolution of this squad continues.
We’re also really interested to see how Anselmino gets on playing in a top league – we hope he gets a lot of games.
