Barcelona’s search for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski appears to be expanding beyond La Liga and deep into Serie A.
According to new reporting from Fichajes, Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has once again emerged as a name of serious interest within the Catalan club’s sporting department.
With Barça planning for the future of their forward line, the Argentine striker is seen as one of the few profiles capable of delivering both immediate impact and long-term value.
The Blaugrana recognise that replacing Lewandowski will be a delicate and strategic process, and it is understood that Martinez fits many of the criteria the club is prioritising.
What adds to Barcelona’s optimism is the reported openness from the player’s camp, who are said to be willing to listen to proposals from top clubs, including Barça.
The outlet mentions that although no formal negotiations have begun, the belief within Barcelona is that the striker could be persuaded by a compelling sporting project.

His representatives’ apparent willingness to evaluate opportunities outside Italy has fuelled speculation that a change of scenery might be possible if the right offer comes along.
However, the biggest challenge remains the financial scale of the operation. Inter Milan consider Martinez untouchable unless an extraordinary bid arrives.
Reports from Italy indicate that the team will not entertain the idea of selling their captain for less than €120 million.
Adding to Inter’s strong negotiating position is Martinez’s contract, which runs until 2029. With such long-term security in place, the Italian side hold full control of the situation and can dictate the rhythm of any potential talks.
Unless the player pushes for a move, something that has not happened, Inter have little incentive to soften their stance.
