Stunning comeback by Inter, 6-2 against Pisa

Inter beat Pisa 6-2 on Serie A matchday 22. A convincing scoreline that came after a difficult start, with the visitors going 2-0 up by the 23rd minute. Moreo struck twice, in the 11th and 23rd minutes, putting Inter on the back foot early on. Two blows that Inter were able to absorb with grit and determination. Dimarco’s introduction in the 34th minute totally changed the momentum of the match. Inter pulled one back in the 39th minute from the penalty spot, with Zielinski converting to make it 2-1. What followed were eight electrifying minutes at San Siro. In the 41st minute came the equaliser: a Dimarco cross met by a perfect header from captain Lautaro to make it 2-2. The surge continued into stoppage time, when Bastoni’s cross was turned into the net by a superb headed goal from Esposito. Inter went into the break having completely turned the game around at 3-2.
After the restart, Inter slowed the tempo but kept creating chances, finishing the match with 34 shots. Pisa stayed in the game and even went close to making it 3-3 from a corner, with Canestrelli’s header. In the closing stages, however, Inter ran away with it. Between the 82nd and 93rd minutes, the Nerazzurri scored three more goals. Dimarco made it 4-2 with a stunning left-footed volley from a Thuram assist, then Bonny struck for 5-2 after a solo run and a double dribble. Finally, Mkhitaryan sealed the scoreline by tapping in from Bisseck’s aerial knockdown.
A crucial win that takes Inter up to 52 points in the table.
