Tedesco: Bologna to replace Italiano with ex-Belgium and Fenerbahce coach | OneFootball

Bologna have reached an agreement with Domenico Tedesco and are now finalising talks to hire the 40-year-old as Vincenzo Italiano’s replacement.

Bologna have identified the replacement for Italiano, and are expected to hire Tedesco, 40, as their new head coach.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the two parties have already reached a principle of agreement, so negotiations are progressing over the last details of the deal.

Bologna parted ways by mutual consent with Vincenzo Italiano on Thursday, with the 48-year-old leaving the Stadio Dall’Ara after two seasons.

According to Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedullà, Tedesco has been on Bologna’s radar for several months, and the 40-year-old is expected to sign with the Rossoblu soon.

Tedesco coached Fenerbahce in the 2025-26 season, finishing second, three points behind city rivals Galatasaray.

Born in Rossano, Italy, Tedesco was raised in Germany, where his family moved when he was only two years old.

He has coached in Germany, Russia (Spartak Moscow), Turkey (Fenerbahce) and served as Belgium’s national team coach from 2023 to 2025.
