Several players on West Bromwich Albion's books are set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Baggies started the season well under new boss Ryan Mason, though inconsistency was a common theme between the first and second international breaks of the campaign.

Six current Albion players are approaching contract-crunch time, with their respective deals set to expire following the culmination of the 2025/26 season.

With most futures depending on which division the Baggies are set to play their football in next term, Football League World takes a look at the six players set to leave the Hawthorns in 2026, as per Transfermarkt (loans not included).

Joe Wildsmith

Backup goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith made the switch to the Hawthorns in 2024, joining from Derby County, with his one appearance this season coming against the Rams in their EFL Cup penalty shootout defeat.

Wildsmith is a more-than-reliable operator at Championship level, and is a fantastic backup option to Joe Griffiths, who has been Mason's number one during the season's early days.

At 29, the Sheffield-born shot-stopper may be in search of regular first-team football, something that he is currently unlikely to get at West Brom until the FA Cup comes around in January.

For Albion, it would make sense to keep Wildsmith around; however, he would not be begrudged if he were to leave in search of a first-choice spot elsewhere come next summer.

Ousmane Diakite

Ousmane Diakite joined the club from Austrian outfit TSV Hartberg in the summer of 2024, though injury issues have continuously stalled his progress since his arrival, with just 22 Championship appearances racked up last term.

West Brom do have the option to trigger a 12-month extension beyond next summer, though he may wish to leave in search of regular first-team football, with the midfielder failing to break into Mason's starting 11 consistently thus far.

Jed Wallace

Club captain Jed Wallace joined the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and has been a crucial cog for the Baggies in recent years.

His influence, though, is naturally beginning to fade at 31.

An ever-reliable operator in the Championship, it would make complete sense to keep Wallace on board, should the Baggies still find themselves in the second tier next term. His role may be more flexible now as he enters the latter stages of his career, but the wideman is absolutely someone that Albion should be looking to tie down for at least another 12 months.

With his level of experience, it is unlikely that he would be short of potential options should his time at the Hawthorns come to an end next summer.

Karlan Grant

Considering that West Brom paid a reported £15 million to Huddersfield for Grant in 2020, it's no surprise that he remains with the club five years on.

Things have not been the easiest for Grant in the Black Country, though, with a combined 10 goals across his previous two seasons coming nowhere near his impressive tally of 18 racked up in the 2020/21 campaign.

The versatile forward is finding first-team football hard to come by under Mason thus far, and it would be no surprise to see Albion extend his deal and look to cash in on him in January, rather than lose a £15 million investment for free in the summer.

Daryl Dike

The tale of Daryl Dike is an extremely sad one, with the highly-rated forward joining the club from MLS side Orlando City in 2022 after scoring 19 times for the central-Florida club.

He had previously scored nine times for Barnsley as they surged to the play-offs under Valerien Ismael in the 2020/21 term, sparking huge excitement within the Baggies fanbase following his arrival.

However, he has been completely unable to get going at the club, with injuries limiting the forward to just over 40 appearances since making the move.

After making 11 appearances last term for the Baggies, Dike is yet to make an appearance under Mason, yet again due to injuries, making it extremely likely that he will continue on at the club following the culmination of this term.

It was a move that should have worked out, but for reasons out of both Dike's and the club's control, the American forward will likely depart in the summer having not made the desired impact.

Josh Maja

While incomparable with Dike, Josh Maja's time in the Black Country has also been continuously stalled by reasons out of his control.

When fit, Maja scores goals, as seen with his 12 registered last term. However, he has been in and out of the team under Mason in the early days, with summer signing Aune Heggebø looking a real presence up top for Albion.

Maja is a perfectly reliable forward in the second tier when fit. However, this is not a guarantee for a forward who made just 38 Championship appearances across two years at the club before this term.
