Premier League clubs work on deals in final days of January window
The January transfer window is in its final days and the Premier League's biggest sides are building up for a grandstand finish. Arsenal continue to be in the market for a striker amid ongoing links with Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Nico Williams, but it appears teenage midfielder Sverre Nypan is the likeliest new recruit first through the door as confidence grows over an agreed deal. Wolves are expecting bids for Cunha.
Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Mathys Tel, who has told Bayern Munich that he wishes to leave before Deadline Day. The Blues saw an enquiry for the young striker rejected earlier in the window. Manchester United are ready to cash in on Chelsea-linked Alejandro Garnacho having agreed a £31.5million fee with Lecca for Patrick Dorgu. Meanwhile, Barcelona are still hoping to land Marcus Rashford on loan, and United could replace him with Christopher Nkunku.
Tottenham are working hard on securing at least one outfield signing this month, and have been linked with an audacious move for Williams, while interest in Angel Gomes and Tyler Dibling is likely to be ahead of summer switch. West Ham have made their first move to sign Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip below!

Jamie Gittens has prioritised a return to the Premier League, with Manchester United now leading the chase for his signature.
The Reading-born winger is attracting plenty of interest and, after spells at both Chelsea and Manchester City, wants to move back to England after five years with Borussia Dortmund.
According to Sky Sports in Switzerland, United have now moved ahead of the likes of Liverpool in the race for his signature, as they look to steal a march of potential suitors.
He won't come cheap, though. The report claims Dortmund would be looking for close to €100million for a player who has already scored eleven goals and provided five assists since the start of the season.

Liverpool have ruled out an exit for Darwin Nunez before the January transfer deadline.
The striker has failed to live up to his staggering £85million price tag, which made him the club’s most expensive ever signing.
After just four goals so far this season, two of which came in the same game, it was suggested Liverpool may try to ship out Nunez amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
But The Athletic report this morning that Liverpool have no intention to lose Nunez despite an approach from Al Nassr.

Sky Sports report that clubs in the Premier League, as well as across Europe and Saudi Arabia, have reached out to Pogba’s representatives over a potential deal.
The free agent is expected to make a decision on his future closer to March.

Arsenal can bank an additional £12million by beating Girona tonight in the Champions League.
Clubs competing in the Champions League receive a £1.8m bonus for every win they achieve in the league phase.
Each position in the table is also worth £230,000, with Arsenal set to bank £7.8m if they hold onto third spot.
A win against Girona is essentially worth an additional £2.9m for the Gunners, while it would also rubber stamp them reaching the last-16 stage and securing at least a further £9.3m in prize money.
Clubs who make it to the last 16 are guaranteed £9.3m in prize money. Not a bad boost during the transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is eager for Arsenal to strengthen their squad before the January transfer window closes - even if they cannot sign a new striker.
Arteta has stressed the need for the Gunners to add an attacker after Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus suffered injuries.
Arsenal’s targets in that position - such as Alexander Isak and Benjamin Sesko - would prove difficult to sign this month.
And asked if he would be open to Arsenal adding to the squad elsewhere as a result, Arteta said: “Well, there are situations open and I always say the same.
“If we can improve the squad with players that can impact us for now, for the future, we will try to do that if it is the best thing for the club - and I stand on that.”

Tottenham have held talks over moves for Southampton midfielder forward Tyler Dibling and Lille's Angel Gomes.
However, according to the Telegraph, both deals are more likely for the summer.
Dibling is currently injured for the next month or so, while Gomes is available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Spurs, though, still hope to add at least one new player to the squad in the final week of the transfer window. It remains to be seen who that is, and if they will get him.

West Ham are hoping to win the race to sign Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, with the Seagulls increasingly likely to let the forward leave this month, writes Malik Ouzia.
The Hammers’s long-standing interest in Ferguson is well-known and has only been amplified since the appointment of Graham Potter, under whom the player made his initial Brighton breakthrough.
Ferguson remains the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Everton, whose manager David Moyes admired the Irishman during his time in charge of West Ham.

Arsenal are ready to accept Benjamin Sesko will not join the club this window.
Journalist Graeme Bailey claims that the Gunners will not be able to persuade RB Leipzig to sell this month.
It’s reported that Sesko, along with Alexander Isak, remains a top target for Arsenal, and a fresh approach in the summer is still on the cards.
But a move for either in January is considered too tough to pull off.
