Unai Núñez arrives in Valencia, says he is in perfect shape | OneFootball

Unai Núñez has arrived in Valencia after flying in from Bergamo, with Valencia and Celta agreeing a loan following his amicable release from Hellas Verona. The club plan to accelerate his registration and he could be in Saturday's squad to face Espanyol.

According to AS, the centre-back reached Manises early in the afternoon and had to remain inside the terminal for almost two hours while final contract details were completed.

On arrival he said he was very happy that things had been resolved. He added he has spoken with Corberán and will talk more in person, and that he feels in perfect condition.

He also addressed the fans, praising Mestalla and the support, and said he has come to fight, keep working and help leave Valencia as high as possible.

Núñez will be Valencia's second winter addition after Umar Sadiq. A right-sided centre-back, he joins on loan until June to cover the long-term absence of Mouctar Diakhaby, filling a role Corberán had termed urgent.

He has 270 top-flight appearances for Athletic, Celta and Hellas Verona. Celta hold his rights until 30 June 2027, with talks on his future to follow at season's end.

Celta paid seven million euros for him two seasons ago after two loan years that brought 76 games. Last season he returned to Athletic on loan from Celta, and last summer, once the option to sign Aymeric Laporte emerged, Celta and Núñez looked at Hellas Verona.
