Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vitor Pereira following a woeful start to the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
Wolves are at the bottom of the league table following eight defeats and two draws, and the club felt the time was right to part with Pereira.
They lost 3-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday, following their elimination from the League Cup by Chelsea during the week.
Pereira signed a new three-year deal with Wolves just over a month ago, but he has been unable to inspire his team to much-needed victories.
They finished 16th last term after failing to win any of their opening 10 games, and they will hope their next manager can lead them to safety.
Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly the favourite to take over from Pereira after he resigned as Celtic boss on Monday.
Former Manchester United managers Erik ten Hag and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are also believed to be in the running for the Wolves job.
Pereira took charge of 38 matches, winning 14, drawing five and losing 19.
The interim manager could be in place for the trip to Chelsea next weekend, as the international break follows afterwards.
The two weeks in between their next two games will give the board enough time to decide as they look to appoint the perfect man to succeed Pereira.
Wolves are the first team in the history of the Premier League to go winless in their opening 10 games in back-to-back campaigns, and the next manager has work to do.
