The AI predictions for Women’s Super League (WSL) Matchday 8 are in, with a late winner to be scored in the clash between title rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
Arsenal are five points behind Chelsea going into Saturday’s clash and can ill-afford to drop more ground to Chelsea in the WSL title race.
Elsewhere, West Ham and Liverpool are looking to secure their first points of the 2025-26 season. AI predictions for this weekend’s matches predict that one of the two sides will finally get off the mark.
Both Manchester clubs will look to continue their excellent run of form, while Tottenham look to keep their place in the top four as they face the newly promoted London City Lionesses.
Arsenal’s title hopes could be derailed on Saturday, according to AI predictions for Matchday 8 of the WSL.
According to the AI supercomputer’s WSL predictions, Arsenal will take the lead against Chelsea through Stina Blackstenius, fresh off her brace against Leicester last weekend.
Aggie Beever-Jones will pull Chelsea level midway through the second half with her fifth goal of the season.
Midfielder Erin Cuthbert is then predicted to score an 85th-minute winner, which would send Chelsea eight points clear of Arsenal with 14 games left to play.
The AI supercomputer suggests that Arsenal’s chances will be hurt by injuries and defensive issues, which have been shown in previous games, including defeats to Lyon and Manchester City.
Leah Williamson has yet to play for Arsenal this season, while Lotte Wubben-Moy, Olivia Smith, Frida Maanum and Kyra Cooney-Cross were all unavailable against Leicester.
SheKicks’ combined XI for Arsenal vs Chelsea also gave Sonia Bompastor’s side the edge with seven players.

West Ham and Liverpool have made among the worst starts to a WSL season since the inaugural 2011 campaign.
Last week, the Hammers became the fifth side in WSL history to lose their opening seven games.
Liverpool, who have played one game fewer, have lost their opening six games. Liverpool’s postponed clash with Aston Villa, originally scheduled for September, has been rescheduled for December 11th.
The AI supercomputer has predicted that West Ham will claim their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
Rehanne Skinner’s side are predicted to take the lead through Vivienne Asseyi’s second goal of the season. However, they are denied their first victory of the campaign by Noemie Mouchon’s 75th-minute equaliser.
Despite scoring their first point, it would be a disappointing result for the Hammers, who will need to win matches like this if they are to avoid the relegation playoff at the end of the season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are predicted to suffer their third 1-0 loss of the season to Brighton thanks to Kiko Seike’s third goal of the season.
Seike is predicted to continue her good run of form in the absence of Michelle Agyemang, who is out for the season with a ruptured ACL.

The AI supercomputer has predicted Jess Park to score against Aston Villa
While Arsenal are predicted to drop ground in the WSL title race, both Manchester clubs are expected to keep up the pace with leaders Chelsea.
Melvine Malard, who leads the Golden Boot race, is expected to score along with teammates Jess Park and Ella Toone in a 3-1 victory for Marc Skinner’s side over Aston Villa.
Park is predicted to play a starring role with a ‘vital role in all three goals,’ according to the AI supercomputer
Kirsty Hanson is predicted to score a stoppage-time consolation goal for Aston Villa, who have only picked up one victory so far this campaign.
Manchester City’s Japanese winger Aoba Fujino is predicted to score a brace in a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park against Everton.
She would be joined on five goals for the WSL season by Khadija Shaw, who opens the scoring.
Victories for both Manchester clubs would mean that Arsenal fall six points behind the top-three.
The AI supercomputer has predicted a 2-2 draw between the London City Lionesses and Tottenham.
London City are twice predicted to take the lead through Isobel Goodwin and Nikita Parris.
However, Tottenham twice pull the Lionesses back through goals by Cathinka Tandberg and Beth England.
