Antony Gautier says Ligue 1 refereeing errors down and urges dialogue with clubs | OneFootball

"We work every day to reduce the number of errors."

He told Le Parisien on Friday.

"We have 78 major errors recorded since the start of the season. Of those, 61 were correctly corrected by VAR, which gives an efficiency rate close to 80% (78.2%). At the same stage in 2024-2025, we were at 90 majors, with the VAR efficiency rate at 75.6%. That means this season we have fewer major errors on the pitch."

"I have had only one wish since arriving in this role, to be able to talk with those who want to. I think today our refereeing is particularly inclined to discuss."

"It also shows that this willingness to open up is being received positively by clubs who want to understand how refereeing works."

"On average, 40% of referees decide after two years not to continue this activity."
