Leeds United are prioritising attacking reinforcements before Monday’s 7pm deadline, while Aston Villa are being linked with Union Berlin centre-back Danilho Doekhi.
Leeds have been strongly linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Jorgen Strand Larsen in the last week after an initial bid was unsuccessful. Talks are understood to be ongoing between the clubs, and Crystal Palace are also credited with interest as they could seek a replacement for Jean-Phillipe Mateta amid speculation over his future.
“I can’t say for sure whether I’ll still be here in the winter or if I’ll go. During the transfer window you always think about what could happen, especially when things get more serious. In the end I’m here and focusing on Union. There was a serious offer, but I ended up staying.” He was speaking to Bild.
With his deal into its final six months and no progress on a new agreement, talk of a move to Elland Road has cooled in recent weeks.
The report claims Villa are considering a move, adds that his summer departure has been described as “confirmed”, and says he would be “a significant loss” for Union. It also portrays Villa as “his most likely destination” before the window shuts.
