Atalanta ‘to target’ AC Milan duo after €50m Man United deal, ‘to block’ Roma move for Scamacca | OneFootball

Atalanta are assessing midfield options with Ederson expected to join Manchester United in a €50m transfer.

Calciomercato.com reports the club are targeting Milan duo Samuele Ricci and Ardon Jashari, along with Arthur Atta, Lucas Da Cunha, Davide Frattesi and Gianluca Gaetano, and that Maurizio Sarri would like to reunite with Taty Castellanos, a former Lazio forward who joined West Ham in January.

From that list, the players most suited to a regista role are Da Cunha, Ricci and Jashari, while Atta, Frattesi and Gaetano are typically used higher up.

Atalanta will soon confirm Cristiano Giuntoli as sporting director and appoint Maurizio Sarri as coach.

Gazzetta suggests Atalanta do not plan major changes in attack, preferring to keep Nikola Krstovic and Gianluca Scamacca. The same outlet adds that Roma are interested in Scamacca and he has already spoken with former Bergamo boss Gian Piero Gasperini. The club are unwilling to let him go or entertain bids.
