Atletico Madrid have moved quickly to sign their first player of the summer, and it’s a big one. Over the last few weeks, they have been in negotiations with Real Sociedad over a deal for Robin Le Normand, and it now appears that an agreement has been finalised.

As reported by Marca, the deal to take Le Normand to Atleti is closed, and it has been for the last two weeks. The entire operation is expected to be worth in the region of €30m.

Le Normand has been Atleti’s top target for the last couple of months. Diego Simeone has been desperate to improve his defensive options following last season’s disappointments, and he’s already got his first addition. More will come, with the next move being made for Feyenoord’s David Hancko.

Le Normand is a top signing for Atletico Madrid. A deal is likely to be announced by all parties next week, once the summer transfer window has officially opened.
