Bayern Munich are eyeing a move for Vasco da Gama winger Rayan Vitor, according to Bild.

The Brazilian starlet emerged as one of the finest talents in South America last term, bagging 17 goals and one assist in 50 appearances.

Rayan would be an excellent understudy to Michael Olise, who has been sensational in Bavaria.

Thankfully, Olise has avoided the spate of injuries that bogged him down at Crystal Palace, but Bayern need a ready deputy in place.

Rayan fits the bill. The 19-year-old can take his time to adapt to German football, sitting behind Olise in the pecking order.

He is also equally dangerous when switched to the left, providing extra attacking cover.

With Serge Gnabry potentially leaving this summer, Rayan looks like a talented replacement to have on the ground.

However, Bayern would need to move quickly, with several European sides keeping tabs on his development and plotting to swoop for his signature.

The report also notes that Bayern are keeping tabs on Santos left-back Souza, who has been turning heads with his play despite his team’s relegation battle.

The 19-year-old would be a long-term replacement for Raphael Guerreiro, whose contract with the German giants expires this summer.

Alphonso Davies’ long-term setback forced Bayern to turn to the injury-prone Guerreiro, and Die Rekordmeister will know the importance of bringing in a quality replacement.

Souza has caught the eye with a goal and two assists in 20 appearances, earmarking himself as one of the brilliant gems of South American football.

Bayern are not known to dip into the Brazilian market for young starlets, but this ageing squad is crying out for some fresh, fast legs across the park.

The Bavarians could use this injection of pace and youth as they begin plotting for life after stalwarts like Gnabry and Guerreiro.
