Roberto Martínez has named a squad of 27 for Portugal’s friendlies against Mexico and the United States, with Bernardo Silva left out.

According to Glorioso 1904, the list included some surprises, notably the call-up of Gonçalo Guedes of Real Sociedad, who has not played since 2022. The fixtures are scheduled for 29 March at 02:00 and 1 April at 00:07.

Former Benfica players João Cancelo of Barcelona, João Neves and Gonçalo Ramos of PSG, and João Félix of Al Nassr are included. Nélson Semedo, a regular who is injured at Fenerbahçe, misses out as expected.

At the 2026 World Cup, Portugal are in Group K with Uzbekistan and Colombia, plus one opponent to be determined from the intercontinental play-off between the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jamaica and New Caledonia.

This season Bernardo Silva is valued at 27 million euros and has made 41 appearances, 30 in the Premier League, eight in the Champions League, one in the FA Cup and two in the League Cup. Across 2,947 minutes he has scored three goals and provided five assists.
