Cole Palmer’s unhappiness at Chelsea is apparently partly down to his missing playing with Nicolas Jackson, who was loaned out.

An exclusive from the Sun today says that Cole Palmer wants out of Chelsea. He’s disillusioned, and clearly feels the club isn’t going in the right direction. He’d be far from the only one.

A return to Manchester as soon as this summer is suggested.

Palmer misses Jackson link up

One of the most interesting claims in the piece is that Palmer “misses playing with striker Nicolas Jackson.”

That would be very interesting if true, as it would be another huge black mark against the sporting directors. By letting Jackson go on his loan to Bayern Munich, they not only removed a good player from the squad, they also reduced Palmer’s effectiveness, and seemingly unsettled him too.

If true, that would make that loan move one of the biggest transfer disasters we’ve seen in recent years. It looks set to cost us a Champions League place, and may well cost us Palmer too – all in return for a loan fee which we’ll only waste on bad signings anyway.

What a disaster.

In other news…

Palmer’s unhappiness apparently also comes down to a tactical issue, with the attacker feeling he’s not getting enough space.

Trevoh Chalobah likely would have had a start for England in this break and a chance to earn a starting spot – but injury came at a terrible time for him.
