Corinthians have rejected a €10 million offer from Beşiktaş for goalkeeper Hugo Souza.

According to Meu Timao, the Turkish side also proposed paying him four times his current salary, but the deal did not progress. Türkiye’s transfer window closes on Friday, 6 February, leaving little time for any renewed attempt.

Hugo joined Corinthians on loan in 2024, then signed permanently for 800 thousand dollars from Flamengo, on a deal through 31 December 2029. He has since become one of the leading goalkeepers in Brazil and is regularly called by the national team, viewed as a candidate to be among the three for the 2026 World Cup.

Milan made a lower offer in December 2025 that was promptly rejected. He had been considered as cover for Mike Maignan amid a contract impasse, but the Frenchman has since renewed, cooling Italian interest.

Hugo will not leave Corinthians at this stage and any transfer discussion would only take place after the World Cup, with the player focused on the club.

Corinthians hold 60 percent of his economic rights, Flamengo retain 40 percent. His release clause for overseas transfers stands at €100 million.

The 27-year-old has made 97 appearances and was key to the 2025 Paulista and Copa do Brasil wins, then the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil, a 2-0 victory over Flamengo.
