Corinthians set a club record for consecutive away wins in the Copa do Brasil with a 1-0 victory over Barra, Santa Catarina, on Tuesday.

The streak stands at six, beginning in May 2025 under Dorival Júnior with a 1-0 success at Novorizontino. According to Meu Timao, it is the longest in the club’s history in this competition.

That campaign continued with a 2-0 win at Palmeiras in the round of 16, then 1-0 victories at Athletico-PR in the quarter-finals and Cruzeiro in the semi-finals. The final finished 2-1 against Vasco da Gama at the Maracanã.

Corinthians have not been beaten away in the Copa do Brasil since October 2024.

Previously, the best visiting run came in 2001 with wins over Joinville (3-1), Goiânia (1-0), Flamengo-PI (8-1), Athletico-PR (1-0) and Ponte Preta (2-0), before a 2-2 draw with Grêmio and a 3-1 defeat in São Paulo to finish runners-up.

The result at the Ressacada means a draw in Itaquera will be enough to reach the round of 16. The second leg is on 14 May at 19:30.

Fernando Diniz’s side return on Sunday, hosting Vasco da Gama at 16:00 in Brasileirão round 12. The match is, in principle, at Neo Química Arena despite the STJD’s home-ground sanction.
