Corinthians remain hopeful of STJD clearance to host Vasco da Gama at Neo Química Arena on Sunday. According to Meu Timao, a 10 working-day homologation window has not been observed, so the fixture could stay at their ground.

The legal department plans to file an appeal in the coming hours to try to reverse the sanction. Options include allowing only women, children, elderly people and supporters with disabilities, or converting the ban into a fine.

STJD initially imposed a one-match home-venue loss and a R$ 80,000 fine under article 243-G, after a racist insult from a supporter towards Palmeiras goalkeeper Carlos Miguel on 12 April. Corinthians understood this would bar fans from their stadium.

Other club fines under articles 213 and 206 were upheld.

André Luiz was banned for one match for an obscene gesture, Matheuzinho got four for striking Flaco López, and Hugo Souza received two for offending officials but has a suspensive effect and is available. Breno Bidon and goalkeeping coach Luiz Fernando Santos were cleared, while Palmeiras were fined R$ 20,000 under article 257.

Home backing is seen as important as Corinthians try to end a nine-game winless run in the league. They are 17th with 12 points and could climb with a victory, depending on other results.
