The Premier League’s last remaining unbeaten teams clash at Selhurst Park on Saturday as Crystal Palace host reigning champions Liverpool.
The Reds have made a perfect start to the season with five wins from five under new manager Arne Slot. They face a formidable test, however, against an Eagles side on a remarkable 17-match unbeaten run in all competitions.
Crystal Palace have been handed a significant boost with manager Oliver Glasner confirming that attackers Ismaïla Sarr and Yeremy Pino are both fit to face Liverpool. With Adam Wharton and Eddie Nketiah also available, Caleb Kporha, Chadi Riad, and Cheick Doucouré are the only confirmed absentees for the Eagles.
Arne Slot has a near full-strength squad to call upon, with young defender Giovanni Leoni the only long-term absentee. The manager will, however, be without the suspended Hugo Ekitike. This opens the door for record signing Alexander Isak to make his first Premier League start for the club.
The Eagles are on a historic unbeaten run that stretches back to last season and are enjoying their best start to a top-flight season since 1990. Their success has been built on a formidable defence. Avoiding defeat here would see them equal their all-time club record of 18 games unbeaten.
The Reds have been in perfect form, winning their last seven consecutive matches in all competitions. A victory here would continue one of the best-ever starts to a season by a reigning champion.
Crystal Palace predicted XI: Henderson; Guehi, Richards, Lacroix; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Pino; Mateta
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Szoboszlai; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak
The match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm Saturday blackout.
