Orlando Pirates will be looking to widen the gap at the summit of the Dstv Diski Challenge [DDC] standings when they host Polokwane City at the UJ Soweto campus on Saturday.
The Buccaneers, who were not in action last weekend due to Stellenbosch FC attending a funeral of their player, sit five points clear at the top of the table, having amassed 44 points in 18 games.
Notably, Roscoe Krieling's side is on a seven-game unbeaten run, comprising of six wins and a solitary draw.
Meanwhile, second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns will be eager to return to winning ways after suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Golden Arrows in their last outing.
Masandawana, who have 39 points, will entertain TS Galaxy at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with an aim of narrowing the gap on Pirates.
On the other hand, defending champions Kaizer Chiefs are on a downward spiral as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to AmaZulu last Sunday.
Amakhosi currently sit fifth with 27 points and are winless in their last four league outings, with three defeats and one draw.
Chiefs will battle for crucial maximum points against Richards Bay at Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday morning.
