Preston North End won 2-0 at Bristol City at Ashton Gate, rising from sixth to fourth in the Championship, as the hosts slipped from eighth to 10th.

Lewis Dobbin struck in the eighth minute, turning in Jordan Thompson's pass into the bottom right corner to set Preston on their way.

The Robins rallied before the break, with Sinclair Armstrong missing two presentable openings, and Daniel Iversen saving smartly from Adam Randell. After the restart, Alfie Devine doubled the advantage with a composed right footed finish to the centre of the net (70.).
