Dorival Júnior praises André Luiz and Breno Bidon after Corinthians’ Supercopa triumph | OneFootball

Corinthians claimed a second Supercopa do Brasil, beating Flamengo 2-0 on Sunday. According to Meu Timao, youngsters André Luiz and Breno Bidon started and drew wide praise.

Before discussing the pair in detail, Dorival Júnior lauded the maturation process and the value of a run of games in establishing a professional. He said he believes players usually reach maturity after 70 to 120 club appearances, although exceptional talents arrive earlier.

The coach added the duo had earned starting spots on merit, are preparing well and giving important answers. He stressed Bidon’s continual growth, calling it satisfying to witness, and said he hopes the midfielder remains at the club and keeps progressing.

The Supercopa was Bidon’s third senior trophy with Corinthians. He started in the 2025 Copa do Brasil triumph and was an important rotation option in that year’s Paulistão.

André Luiz is at the beginning of his senior spell after a serious knee injury kept him out for six months in the under-20s, yet he has already won Dorival’s trust.

Corinthians now switch focus to the Campeonato Paulista, hosting Capivariano in round six on Thursday at 20:30 at Neo Química Arena.
