Former West Brom head coach Eric Ramsay has been linked with a potential move to the Wales set-up if Craig Bellamy departs.
ExpressAndStar.com reports that the Football Association of Wales are planning contingencies should Bellamy leave for relegated Premier League side Burnley, who are said to be strongly interested. Burnley will face Albion in the Championship next season.
Ramsay, 34, was appointed as Ryan Mason’s successor on January 11 but departed after a winless run of nine matches across 44 days.
That sequence dragged Albion deeper into relegation trouble before former player and coach James Morrison led a recovery to survival.
Ramsay moved to The Hawthorns from Minnesota United and has previously worked within the Welsh youth set-up. He also served as an assistant at Manchester United and in the Chelsea academy.
Born on the Shropshire-Welsh border, he worked in Shrewsbury’s academy and first team earlier in his career and earned strong notices for his work in Minnesota. He has not returned to management since leaving Albion.
Burnley are seeking a new manager after sacking Scott Parker, and a potential shortlist to replace Bellamy, should he go, includes Steve Cooper and Rob Edwards.
