According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, QPR, Norwich, Charlton and Oxford have confirmed departures as Championship clubs publish retained lists, offering potential free options for Leicester City, now in League One.
City are unlikely to load up on players their former rivals deem surplus, but one or two smart free additions could aid their push.
QPR have released defensive midfielder Isaac Hayden. The 31-year-old made 30 appearances in all competitions this season and could add steel at the base of midfield.
Norwich have let Emiliano Marcondes go. A key figure for the Canaries last season, he has twice won promotion from the Championship with Brentford and Bournemouth, though this term he started only eight games across all competitions.
City are likely to need forward-thinking midfielders. They do have Louis Page, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid could stay, but Jordan James, Divine Mukasa and Aaron Ramsey will return to their parent clubs.
Charlton’s 33-year-old Luke Berry may also appeal. He made six starts this season after playing a crucial role the year before in their League One promotion campaign, contributing 12 goal involvements.
At Oxford, relegated alongside City, the standout name is Myles Peart-Harris. The 23-year-old, an attacking midfielder who can operate off the left, joined from Brentford on a short-term deal in January and featured in 20 of the 22 games he was eligible for, scoring three times.
Two former City players are among the departures, title-winner Jeff Schlupp is leaving Norwich and former goalkeeper Ben Hamer has departed QPR.
