Rafael Leao benefitted massively from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s original return to AC Milan, and the Rossoneri are needing a repeat.

In recent weeks, Ibrahimovic and Leao have both received heavy amounts of criticism due to their wavering presences. The Swede has been targeted for his absence from Milanello, which only adds to the weight on his shoulders at Milan.

For Leao, it is a straightforward problem with no straightforward answer. He is still undergoing a period of inconsistency, and the Rossoneri must find the root cause, so Gazzetta dello Sport writes they are looking to repeat their previous actions.

When the Portuguese winger first arrived, he struggled to hit the ground running, nevertheless, Ibra took him under his wing, and the rest, as they say, is history. Now, the Swede has returned to Milanello, and this was his first port of call – offering some love and advice to Milan’s prized asset.

Alongside this, Zlatan congratulated the team for their impressive return from the international break, whilst also speaking to each player individually to encourage their performances. It is a new strategy being deployed, his Milanello appearances may no longer be as frequent, but they will now be more meaningful and more targeted.
