Sacha Tavolieri has revealed that Club Brugge winger Michal Skoras is set to leave the club to join fellow Pro League side Gent. Club Brugge had been expected to move on from Skoras this summer and with time winding down in the transfer window have found a solution. Gent are expected to part with around €3m to bring Skoras from Club Brugge. Tavolieri expects that the deal between the two clubs will be confirmed within the next day or so.
Club Brugge signed the 25-year-old Skoras from Polish side Lech Poznan in the summer of 2023. The winger came through at Termalica Nieciecza as a youngster before joining Lech Poznan. Skoras spent a season out on loan with Rakow Czestochowa in 2019/2020 before making his break through in Poznan during the 2020/2021 campaign. Skoras really broke out during the 2022/2023 campaign with an impressive 16 goals and four assists in 53 games. He was then signed by Club Brugge and delivered four goals and eight assists in 47 games during his first campaign.
However, his starts were limited during his time in Brugge, with most of his appearances coming from the bench. Last season he played 41 games for the side but only managed two goals and no assists. So far this season Skoras has played twice.
He should get more opportunities with a Gent side that have only won once so far this season. Skoras may be the attacking threat they need out wide and he should be an upgrade on what they already have. With Cape Verde winger Helio Verala leaving the side, Gent have moved quickly to bring in a winger.
