Leeds United reached the FA Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 home win over Norwich City at Elland Road. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Graham Smyth named Gabi Gudmundsson star man with nine out of 10.

Leeds thought they were ahead in the 20th minute when Lukas Nmecha finished a Willy Gnonto knockdown from a Jaka Bijol long ball. VAR ruled Gnonto had handled as he challenged keeper Daniel Grimshaw.

They did lead soon after the half-hour, Sean Longstaff turning and finishing after Gudmundsson’s cutback. Daniel Farke’s side doubled the lead on 42 minutes when a Dan James cross was only half-cleared and Gudmundsson drove in from the centre of the box.

Norwich responded after the break and missed chances to reduce the deficit. Leeds got going again and Joel Piroe added a classy third with five minutes left.

Smyth’s scores included Lucas Perri seven, Sebastiaan Bornauw five, Jaka Bijol eight, Ethan Ampadu seven, Dan James seven and Gudmundsson nine. Bornauw was withdrawn at half-time.
