Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel would sell six of the current Chelsea players and loan four of them out, per the latest.
This news comes after Chelsea finally confirmed the arrival of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town on Wednesday after days of us knowing it was a done deal!
Delap arrives at the club on a 6-year contract and Chelsea are paying the £30m release clause to sign which in reality, is an absolutely bargain in this day and age.
Chelsea fans know they have a top new talent coming in here, one that is still a bit raw and still developing, but one who has an incredibly high ceiling and so many top attributes for a number 9.
John Obi Mikel has his own podcast now he has retired from the game, and he is always very vocal on all things Chelsea.
In fact, I’d say he is the most vocal former Chelsea player out there and always has a lot to say, especially on transfers and the current squad.
John Obi Mikel on Rio Ferdinand’s podcast.
This week, he did an interview with The Telegraph stating all the players he would sell or loan in the current squad.
Mikel would keep 14 of the current crop, sell 6, and loan out 4.
So, who are the ones he is moving out?
He is selling Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
And he is loaning out Trevoh Chalobah, Tyrique George, Marc Guiu, and Mykhailo Mudryk.
Some interesting selections there. I agree with some but not all. It’s tough to do this though but there are some big calls to make this summer.
