Jorge Carrascal has signalled a desire to leave Flamengo after receiving his third red card of the season, and he was unsettled by supporters confronting him outside his condominium in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the midfielder and club officials have begun exploring a sale and could wait for the World Cup to try to recoup the 12 million euros invested, with Carrascal set to represent Colombia.

He has told his representatives he could return to Russian football, while Flamengo have listed him as available for transfer, viewing off-field issues as unsustainable. He is said to have hosted frequent parties and, despite his ability, the club believes his conduct in some matches has fallen short.

On Saturday 23, he was sent off on 20 minutes for a high boot that struck Palmeiras defender Murilo in the face. Flamengo lost 3-0 and now trail the leaders by seven points. Palmeiras have played one game more, with Flamengo on 31 points and Palmeiras on 38.

His dismissals began early in 2026, first against Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil, then against Fluminense in the league. The STJD banned him for two matches after the Fla-Flu and could sanction him again. Flamengo have also issued an administrative fine, docking part of his wages.

Flamengo face Cusco of Peru at the Maracanã on Tuesday 26, the final round of the Libertadores group stage. Carrascal is available to Leonardo Jardim because the latest red card came in the Brasileirão.
