Liverpool are moving quickly to secure the futures of players central to Arne Slot’s plans. According to TBR Football, contract extensions for Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch are set to be finalised in the near future.
Transfer insider Graeme Bailey explained: “When it comes to Liverpool contracts, I think Curtis Jones will be sorted pretty soon. Ryan Gravenberch will be the next cab off the rank after that. In terms of contracts, Jones and Gravenberch will be the next big deals Liverpool really commit to.”

Jones has developed into a key figure in the Liverpool midfield, even if his appearances have been managed carefully under Slot. He featured in half of the Reds’ league matches last season and has already proven his importance in domestic cup competitions and the Premier League title push.

It has been nearly three years since Jones last signed an extension, tying him to the club until June 2027. His rise since then has been steady, playing defining roles in cup triumphs and cementing his place as a reliable squad option. Whether his weekly wage sits closer to £67,000, as reported by Salary Sport, or £15,000 as claimed by Capology and Spotrac, it is evident that he has outgrown his current deal.
For Gravenberch, reports of a new deal underline his growing influence at Anfield. The Netherlands international has shown flashes of quality since joining, and Liverpool’s intent to secure his future reflects their belief in his long-term potential. Slot has already leaned on his versatility, and with a settled environment around him, the midfielder has the chance to flourish further.

While Jones and Gravenberch look set for renewed terms, attention will also turn to those entering the final year of their contracts. Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson remain integral figures, while youngsters Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni represent part of the club’s future. Sporting director Richard Hughes will need to ensure that the balance between securing established stars and protecting emerging talent is handled with urgency.

Bailey’s suggestion that Jones and Gravenberch are the immediate priorities shows where Liverpool see their midfield core being built for years to come.
The prospect of new deals for Jones and Gravenberch feels like a vital step forward. Jones, a local lad who has grown through the academy, represents the identity supporters want to see in the team. He has already delivered big moments in finals and high-pressure matches, and ensuring his commitment to the club is about more than wages, it is about keeping the heart of Liverpool alive on the pitch.
Gravenberch is different, but no less important. His first season was about adaptation, yet there were glimpses of the powerful, technically skilled midfielder Liverpool thought they were signing. Fans have seen enough to believe he can grow into one of Europe’s most effective midfielders. Securing his future now avoids uncertainty later and allows him to focus purely on his football.
What supporters want next is clarity around Konate and Robertson. Both are crucial to the defensive structure and letting their deals run down would send the wrong message. The idea that Jones and Gravenberch are being prioritised is encouraging, but it must be part of a wider plan to tie down the spine of the team. For Liverpool fans, these contract talks are not just business, they are about sustaining momentum and keeping the club in a position to compete for honours season after season.
