It appears that Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez will be heading for France as he prepares to leave FC Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window.

News about the 18-year-old’s shock departure broke out on Friday, with the La Masia graduate opting to move on by paying his €6 million release clause.

There has been no shortage of suitors for Dro, with Manchester City, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and PSG among the clubs keen on acquiring his services.

PSG leading the race

Now, though, according to Fabrizio Romano, PSG seem to be the best placed to sign Dro from Barcelona.

Indeed, as per the reliable transfer expert, the French and European champions are close to reaching a verbal agreement with the Barcelona youngster.

The Parisian giants, as such, are ahead of the English and German clubs also vying to sign the 18-year-old starlet, with manager Luis Enrique himself understood to be involved in securing the deal.

PSG are hoping to close the agreement with Dro soon before they can activate his €6 million release clause and swoop him away from Barcelona.

This will come as a blow for Barça, who saw the La Masia graduate as a part of the club’s plans for the future and were hoping to tie him down to a new contract.

Dro will leave the Blaugrana after making five first-team appearances in which he registered one assist.

One of the main reasons behind the youngster’s decision to leave is to get regular minutes. However, it seems unlikely that his situation would be any different at PSG than it currently is at Barcelona.
