There are growing indications that Noel Aseko could play a real role in FC Bayern’s plans for the summer. The 20-year-old is currently on loan to Hannover 96 – but the club at Säbener Straße is thinking hard about bringing him back

As Sky reporter Kerry Hau reported in the podcast „Mia san vier“, there is a prominent supporter at the record champions: „Bayern are seriously considering bringing the player back in the summer and then using him because Kompany is a big fan of his.“

This assessment is in line with statements made by the club in recent weeks. Sporting director Christoph Freund had already emphasized that the club would not necessarily have to bring in external players to replace Leon Goretzka. Instead, they have „very, very interesting players of their own“ – both in the squad and on loan

Aseko as Goretzka’s successor?

Internally, Aseko is one of the most exciting options for the central midfield. The athletic midfielder has established himself at Hannover and is continuously improving. His dynamism, aggression and goal threat are seen as strengths – attributes that are particularly in demand under Vincent Kompany

The U21 international is on loan until the end of the season. Hannover have an option to buy the player, which is likely to be exercised. However, the decisive factor is that FC Bayern has the right to buy him back. The Munich club could take Aseko back immediately for around €1.4 million

Financially, this would be a manageable risk – in sporting terms, however, it would be a strategic move. Instead of investing millions in an external midfielder, Bayern could focus on an internal project that is already familiar with the club

The final decision is likely to be made in May or June as part of the concrete squad planning. Kompany believes Aseko is capable of taking the next step – and FC Bayern are seriously considering giving him this opportunity.
