After Nico Schlotterbeck, Waldemar Anton is now also increasing the pressure ahead of the Bundesliga top match against FC Bayern. BVB still believe they have a chance in the title race
FC Bayern are once again getting a clear message from Dortmund in the title race. After Nico Schlotterbeck had recently publicly declared that they wanted to „become champions“, Waldemar Anton has now followed suit. In an interview with Sky, the centre-back made it clear that BVB have not given up on their title dreams
„Anyone who doesn’t have title dreams is wrong for Borussia Dortmund. We’re doing everything we can to make it exciting again. But we have to do our job well and, above all, win the close games,“ said the 29-year-old. Anton thus underlined Dortmund’s clear ambition to put pressure on the record champions until the end of the season
Dortmund are currently behind FC Bayern in the table, with the Munich side six points ahead. Anton was realistic about the starting position: „Six points is huge, with the goal difference it feels like nine.“ Despite this situation, the team still wants to believe in its own chances and not let any doubts arise in the final spurt of the season

The head-to-head clash between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern will take place on 28 February as part of the 23rd Bundesliga matchday. The top match is considered to point the way in the championship race. A win for BVB would close the gap, while the record champions could take another step towards the title with a victory
For FC Bayern, the renewed challenge from Dortmund means one thing above all: the runners-up continue to send out a message of self-confidence. After Schlotterbeck, Anton is now the next BVB professional to publicly formulate the claim to remain in the title race until the end.
