Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer discusses helping Norway qualify for their first World Cup since 1998 in an interview in Sunday's Leeds United matchday programme.

The 27-year-old also explains what it is like to share a dressing room with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and says why Keith Andrews was the "right man" for the head coach role with the Bees.

Norway sealed their spot at the World Cup next summer with a 4-1 win against Italy at the San Siro last month.

"It doesn’t get any better than that, to be honest. It’s a fantastic stadium against a great, great nation," said Ajer.

"To win 4-1 there and go the whole of qualifying unbeaten is fantastic for such a small country as us.

"Italy has always been the team to knock us out in tournaments, so to beat such a fantastic nation 7-1 on aggregate is basically a dream for us.

"It was incredible, one of the best weeks of my life to qualify for the World Cup with Norway.

"The time at Celtic [the club he joined the Bees from] and time at Brentford has been magnificent for me, but also, I have to say representing my country and bringing them to a tournament has been my main goal for the last few years.

"To be able to achieve that, all while playing in the Premier League with Brentford; it’s definitely been a good year."
