Leeds United are interested in a summer transfer move for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, according to the Daily Mail.

Manager Daniel Farke wants reinforcements in the middle of the park, and the £20 million-rated Saints star is a top target.

Charles has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, and a Premier League move could be on the cards after Southampton were stopped from playing in the Championship play-off final for spying.

The 22-year-old helped Southampton put Arsenal to the sword in the FA Cup quarter-final in April, coming off the bench to score the winner.

Charles also scored against Liverpool in the League Cup last September.

He was in fine form for Northern Ireland in their friendly against France earlier this month, assisting a goal in the 3-1 loss.

Charles has what it takes to play in the Premier League, and a move to Yorkshire could appeal to him.

He made 38 appearances last season, weighing in with six goals and two assists.

While he is primarily a defensive midfielder, he can also feature as a centre-back and a full-back.

His technical ability is brilliant, with passing, tackling, winning aerial duels and intercepting balls his major strengths.
