With seven matches left, Leeds United’s fight to stay up is set against a ranking of relegation rivals’ run-ins, calculated by the average league position of their remaining opponents, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.
Daniel Farke’s side have gone four games without scoring, though two finished 0-0, and they sit four points above the relegation zone after 31 fixtures.
Leeds are four clear of third-bottom West Ham, three ahead of fourth-bottom Tottenham Hotspur and one above fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest. There is then a six-point gap to 14th-placed Crystal Palace, three behind Newcastle United and Bournemouth on 42 points, with Palace on 39 possibly safe too.
At the bottom, bookmakers consider Wolves and Burnley virtually down, with second-bottom Burnley nine points behind West Ham and Wolves 12 adrift.
On run-in difficulty, Crystal Palace are judged hardest, with an average opponent position of ninth, 9.14. Nottingham Forest and Burnley are joint second-hardest at 10th, 9.71.
Tottenham Hotspur follow on 11th, 10.57. West Ham United have the third-easiest schedule at 11th, 11.0, while Wolves are second easiest at 14th, 14.14.
