Curtis Jones was not involved in Liverpool training ahead of the Champions League meeting with Atletico Madrid.
Alexis Mac Allister did take part, however, despite coming off injured in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Jones missed the game through injury and was not included in the open part of Liverpool’s training session in front of the media.
Speaking ahead of the game against Burnley, boss Arne Slot said: “Curtis Jones, of course, I don’t know if you knew but he got injured in the last game so he will not be available for the game against Burnley but I think the rest of them all came back without a problem.”
Alexander Isak, however, has trained and could be in line for his Reds debut when they host the Spanish side at Anfield.
The Swedish striker was left out of the squad to face Burnley having not played any club football this season.
But Slot said after Sunday’s clash that he is ready to feature.
“You make a choice for a good reason, for a good argument,” Slot said.
“That choice was because he missed out for four months on team training.
“He’s in his second or third week of pre-season. We have given him a proper week and then we think maybe he will get more than 10 or 15 minutes in our Wednesday game and that’s the way to build him up.
“He needs proper playing time but also build him up so he has a good base.”
