Lucas Paquetá signs as Flamengo race to register him for Supercopa against Corinthians | OneFootball

Lucas Paquetá has signed for Flamengo. According to Globo.com, the club are racing to register him in the CBF's BID by six pm on Friday so he can be available to Filipe Luís for Sunday's Supercopa do Brasil against Corinthians in Brasília.

He arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday and trained on Friday at Ninho do Urubu. He has signed through December 2030. He is expected to be presented on Saturday and to travel to Brasília with the squad.

Flamengo marked the deal with celebratory social posts, welcoming the 28-year-old back.

Paquetá said the move reflects his mental health needs and a wish to reconnect with his boyhood club. He called himself one of the supporters on the pitch and promised to show it.

His situation mirrors Danilo's last year. The defender was unveiled on 29 January and featured on two February late in the 2025 Supercopa against Botafogo.

His last match was on six January, a Premier League defeat for West Ham to Nottingham Forest. He then reported back pain and asked not to train or play. If he is registered, his fitness will not be an impediment to a Sunday debut.
