In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City are eager to recruit Olympique Marseille keeper Geronimo Rulli. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian giants are keen on signing the Argentine goalie after identifying him as an ideal replacement for James Trafford this off-season.
Rulli enjoyed a decent campaign at Marseille recently after he produced a run of solid displays for them in Ligue 1. The 34-year-old conceded 52 goals and kept nine clean sheets in 39 appearances for the French outfit last season in various competitions.
The Argentine talent is currently one of the most experienced keepers in his homeland. Hence, Man City would do well to get a deal done for him later this year.
His current contract at the French club will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for the Mancunian club to land him in this transfer window.

Rulli can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing with confidence on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some top saves at the back for his team.
Standing at 1.89, the Argentine sensation is a commanding presence inside his penalty area and has got some experience in European football. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Man City manage to sign him in this transfer window.
We can expect Rulli to bring more quality and depth to Enzo Maresca’s squad. He is good enough to serve as an ideal back-up to Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.
At 34, Rulli is past his prime and would be a decent signing for Man City in the short term. He is capable of helping them compete across all fronts over the next couple of years. With all things considered, Maresca should focus on trying everything in his power to snap Rulli up before the end of this transfer window.
