Manchester United star Marcus Rashford reportedly rebuffed overtures from a Saudi Pro League outfit after they reached out to his camp.

Rashford’s future and what his role is in the team going forward is an issue that will need clarification very soon.

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the 26-year-old, who endured a poor 2023/24 season. He scored on just eight occasions, a far cry from the career-high 30 goals he plundered across all competitions the campaign before, on his way to winning the club’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person divulged that Rashford is unlikely to leave Old Trafford this summer. It was stated that the player is determined to come back and prove his worth after a difficult past few months.

The Sun subsequently relayed the opposite as they explained that Erik ten Hag is not entirely opposed to the idea of selling the England international.

The newspaper mentioned that United are hoping to fetch a sum of around £80 million for their No 10 but considering his dip in form, they could be convinced to accept £60 million.

Rashford has been linked to clubs such as Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Paris Saint-Germain’s long-term interest in him has also been well-documented.

A surprise candidate that emerged to secure the forward’s services was Saudi club Al-Ittihad. Al-Ittihad were expected to make a play for the Carrington academy graduate, whom they would like to make the latest high-profile addition to their ranks, which currently consists of stars like Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.

According to The Muppetiers – a relatively reliable source for United news – a Saudi Pro League team did in fact make a move for Rashford but it failed.

“Recently, a Saudi club reached out to the agent of Marcus Rashford to inquire over a move and was flatly turned down and informed that he would not consider a move to Saudi at this stage.”

Mupettiers didn’t specifically name Al-Ittihad but there’s a realistic chance that it was them.

The United players who weren’t away on international duty are set to report back to Carrington on Monday ahead of pre-season and Rashford is likely to be part of this group.
