After addressing their attack with Niclas Fullkrug, Milan are canvassing the market for a defender and have laid eyes on Kim Min-Jae. He’s not been a pillar of the formation and has dealt with a few physical problems since a €57M transfer from Napoli, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The South Korean talisman would like to arrive in good form at the 2026 World Cup and is open to departing. One of his former teams, Fenerbahce, kicked the tires as well, but he’d easily pick the Rossoneri if it’s possible, as he favors a return to Serie A.
On the other hand, it won’t be easy or cheap for Milan to sign Kim Min-Jae. Even though he’s behind Jonathan Tah and Dalot Upamecano is in the hierarchy, Bayern Munich aren’t in a rush to part ways with him. Plus, the Frenchman’s future in Bavaria is far from certain.
The Rossoneri would have to convince the counterparty to accept a loan with an option to buy and to cover part of his wages, which exceed their standards.
As for other options, Igli Tare is well familiar with Luiz Felipe, who could leave Rayo Vallecano for cheap but hasn’t played consistently in a long time. It’ll be challenging to convince Lazio to sell Mario Gila mid-season. They haven’t proceeded after inquiring about Axel Disasi, Tuttomercatoweb informs. Massimiliano Allegri reached out to Federico Gatti, but things haven’t gone past that, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
It’d be a coup if it weren’t just a six-month patch, but there doesn’t appear to be the basic conditions to do the deal. Chances are, they’ll pull off a Fullkrug-like addition to simply shore up their depth.
