Ange Postecoglou begins his tenure as Nottingham Forest manager with a formidable challenge as he takes his new side to face Arsenal on Saturday.
The Australian’s first team selection is complicated by a number of key absences, particularly in midfield and at full-back. A trip to the Emirates Stadium, where Forest have not won in the league since 1989, represents one of the toughest possible starts for the new head coach.
New manager Ange Postecoglou is facing a selection headache in the full-back positions for his first match. Ola Aina is a major doubt after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Nigeria. On the opposite flank, high-profile loanee Oleksandr Zinchenko is confirmed to be unavailable, as he is ineligible to face his parent club, Arsenal.
In central midfield, the manager will be without the injured Nicolás Domínguez. However, the rest of the squad is in good shape and fine form. Ibrahim Sangaré and Elliot Anderson are expected to form the midfield partnership, with the latter returning after being named England’s Player of the Match in both of September’s fixtures.
Captain Morgan Gibbs-White is fresh after limited minutes on international duty, and he will be joined by a host of players who scored for their countries during the break, including Dan Ndoye and Chris Wood.
Nottingham Forest predicted XI: Sels; Savona, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Anderson, Yates; McAtee, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
The Premier League fixture will take place at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 13 September 2025, with kick-off at 12:30 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live in the UK on Sky Sports Main Event, with coverage starting at 12 pm BST.
