Palmeiras are planning talks over improved terms for Arthur after his breakthrough at left-back. The academy product stepped into the starting line-up following injuries to Joaquín Piquerez and Jefté.
According to Nosso Palestra, the board intend to meet the player and his representatives to discuss a contract uplift, both to reflect his status and discourage outside interest. His deal was renewed in 2025 and runs to 2029.
The club hierarchy views the move as a routine step taken with other first-team regulars. Talks are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
Arthur drew bids at the start of the season but turned them down in hope of a senior chance with Palmeiras. The board currently consider him non-negotiable, a stance that would shift only in the face of offers deemed irresistible.
First-choice Piquerez underwent ankle surgery in early April after being injured in Uruguay's friendly against England. He accelerated his recovery to target World Cup involvement and missed a long stretch for Palmeiras.
Jefté, signed in 2025 as the immediate back-up, suffered muscle problems, then had surgery on seven June after twisting his right knee against Chapecoense. In the best-case scenario, he could only be available to Abel Ferreira at the end of the season.
