Real Madrid star Rodrygo has provided his take on the best word to describe new manager Xabi Alonso.

Alonso is for his part of course fresh off what has been a fine start to life back in La Liga.

After swapping the bench at Bayer Leverkusen for that at former club Real Madrid earlier this summer, the one-time midfielder has gone on to notch four wins from four in league play.

As much has guided Los Blancos to an early lead atop the Spanish top-flight table.

A clear new style of play has been noted across this stretch, when compared to last season under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti.

Real now press with great vigour all over the pitch, a tactic which has culminated in great improvement from a defensive standpoint.

And such efforts all come back to one word for the aforementioned Rodrygo.

Speaking during an interview with UEFA, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, over the weekend, attacker Rodrygo revealed that his new manager preaches ‘intensity’ above all else:

“We’ve only been working with him for a short time, but it’s been long enough to see his intensity, to see how he approaches football every day, in training. He always actively participates and helps a lot. I think intensity is the key word to describe Xabi Alonso and his style of play, keeping possession, always attacking with intensity.”
