Jérémy Jacquet (20) remains a major target for Chelsea, and Stade Rennais may already have his replacement lined up, according to a report from Florian Plettenberg.
Rennes have rated Jacquet at €70m, as per a report from Ouest-France. It would therefore take a mammoth bid to sign the Frenchman, and it remains to be seen whether Liam Rosenior’s side will stump up the cash.
But if they are to do so, they may already have their replacement lined up. Charlie Cresswell (23) has excelled since joining Toulouse FC from formative club Leeds United back in 2024 and is attracting serious interest this month. As per a report from The Athletic, the England youth international is the subject of three bids from Wolfsburg, the last one worth €23m. Toulouse are holding out for a figure north of €30m, The Athletic understands.
In the event of Jacquet’s departure, Rennes would be ready to open talks to sign Cresswell, Plettenberg understands.
