Birmingham City striker Frank Tattum is currently on trial with Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday prospective owner David Storch has already begun planning for a brighter future at Hillsborough.
The Owls remain in administration, and are set to be deducted 15 points next season, as Storch's bid fell below the amount required to pay the creditors 25p in the pound.
Should the American's Arise consortium complete their takeover, though, Wednesday are vying to be active in the summer transfer market, and make themselves competitive in the third tier.
The South Yorkshire club have already been docked 18 points this season, which acted as a catalyst for their relegation to League One, which was sealed in February.

Wednesday's tough season has been underpinned by the fact that they have managed just one Championship victory in 41 attempts so far this term.
The Owls appear unlikely to change that record when they travel to league leaders Coventry City for their next game this Saturday, with the Sky Blues closing in on a place in next season's Premier League.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Wednesday Word, the Owls are eyeing a move for Birmingham City's 20-year-old striker Frank Tattum, who is set to leave Blues at the end of the season.
Tattum has been on trial with the South Yorkshire outfit, and scored in their Under-21 side's 2-0 victory at Wigan Athletic on Tuesday afternoon.
Football League World asked our Wednesday fan pundit, Patrick McKenna, for his thoughts on the development, and if it was a good sign that the Owls are thinking ahead for next term.
McKenna said: "In regards to Frank Tattum, it certainly is good that we are thinking ahead for next season. It's a monumental rebuild, and it's something we need to get started as soon as possible.
"The chronic lack of preparation for this season is one of the factors why we are in such a shocking position. If this is plans in motion already, it is encouraging, and credit to the potential new owners that they are thinking like this.
"In regards to the player himself, certainly, we'd need different sorts of players. There needs to be an injection of youth, alongside the more experienced players.
"So, this is the sort of transfer you kind of take a punt on. The guy is obviously at a very tender age in his career, so if we sign him, and possibly get him some games in League One, then either he will shine, or maybe he won't cut it at that level, in which case, it's kind of a low-risk signing for us.
"Youth has to be part of the plan going forward, and I'm pleased that we are looking at prospects like this, so, it's very much see how it goes, if indeed the deal does go over the line."

The Owls have endured one of the toughest seasons in their history, and will be grateful for the fact that they have just five Championship games remaining.
Wednesday's season began with an extremely difficult summer transfer window, courtesy of the fact that former owner Dejphon Chansiri consistently failed to pay player and staff wages on time.
Therefore, the Hillsborough faithful are desperate to see Storch get his takeover across the line and guide the South Yorkshire outfit to a better future.
As alluded to by McKenna, acquiring a young player such as Tattum would strengthen the Owls ahead of next term.
