Sunderland Women to play five Stadium of Light games as WSL2 schedule released

Sunderland Women’s 2026/27 WSL2 fixtures have been confirmed, with five games to be staged at the Stadium of Light. According to Sunderland Echo, the Lasses open at Eppleton CW against Bristol City on Sunday, September 6th.
A trip to newly-promoted Burnley follows on Sunday, September 13th, before Southampton visit the Stadium of Light on Sunday, September 20th. The month closes with an away date at Watford on Sunday, September 27th.
November brings a short journey to Durham at Maiden Castle on Sunday, November 8th. A week later, the first Wear-Tyne derby takes place, with Newcastle United visiting the Stadium of Light on Sunday, November 15th.
Into the new year, Durham head to Eppleton on Sunday, January 31st. Nottingham Forest are at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, March 21st, before the reverse derby at St. James’ Park on Sunday, March 28th. Sheffield United then visit the Stadium of Light on Sunday, April 4th.
The campaign is scheduled to finish against Watford at the Stadium of Light between May 7th and 9th, with the exact date to be confirmed. Fixtures are subject to change. In other news, Niyah Dunbar and Niamh Boothroyd have left on loan to Norwich City and Middlesbrough respectively.
