A quartet of high-profile players are due to see their contract terms with La Liga champions Barcelona expire in the summer of 2026.
This comes amid ongoing efforts on the part of the Camp Nou brass to tie several of the stars in question down to fresh terms.
First up comes Frenkie de Jong, one of the captains and leaders in Hansi Flick’s squad. Work has long been underway behind the scenes to extend the Dutchman’s deal.
Next comes defender Eric García, whose increasing prominence in the first-team setup in Catalunya’s capital has also given rise to a contract renewal proposal.
Veteran goalscorer Robert Lewandowski is also due to see the Blaugrana chapter of his career come to an end next year, with it currently considered unlikely that the Pole will be offered another contract.
And last up comes another member of Hansi Flick’s defensive ranks, in Andreas Christensen. The Dane’s situation is perhaps the most unclear of all, with a decision on the part of Deco and co. likely to come based on Christensen’s ability to stay fit and contribute meaningful minutes this season.
