Vasco set up unique logistics to field their international duo

The board of Vasco da Gama set up a true logistical “war operation” to ensure the team is at full strength for the important clash against Fortaleza. With both right-backs on international duty, the club had to charter flights and negotiate agreements so that Paulo Henrique and Puma Rodríguez arrive in time for Wednesday’s (15th) match.

Special operation for the return from Brazil

The most complex situation is Paulo Henrique’s. The fullback will be on the field for the Brazilian National Team on Tuesday (14th), in a friendly against Japan in Tokyo. To get him there in time, Vasco purchased a new flight. The player will leave Japan right after the match, with layovers in London and Paris, and is expected to land in Fortaleza only late Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the game.

The club also moved to bring forward Puma Rodríguez’s return. The fullback, who played 45 minutes for the Uruguay national team on Friday, has his last commitment on Monday (13th) in Malaysia. In an agreement with the Uruguayan federation, Vasco adjusted the player’s flight, and he is expected in Fortaleza early Wednesday afternoon.

Effort aims to maintain Vasco’s good form in the Brasileirão

The massive logistical and financial effort is justified by the importance of the players. Currently in 11th place, Vasco seeks to consolidate itself in the upper half of the table. The presence of both fullbacks is considered fundamental by the coaching staff for the team to maintain its good performances and pursue a positive result away from home.
